The Women's 101 Running Programs are coached by:

Marlene Atwood, Certified Running Coach - (ASEP/RRCA/USATF)

Our Mission:

  • To offer women a program that will assist them in achieving their goals on health and fitness.

  • To provide women with a personal training program designed specifically for their fitness level.

  • To provide information on health, injury prevention, nutrition, proper workout apparel, etc. through emails, program handouts and special coaches clinics.

  • To cultivate a love for the sport of running and the camaraderie it generates, and make it a habit for life.

Benefits of Running

  • A regular exercise program not only improves your health but assures quality of life for the future.  Running is one of the simplest forms of exercise, requiring very little except commitment.

  • Running is the greatest for muscle toning and weight control, burning more calories in less time than any other exercise.  A more muscular body naturally burns more calories at work and at rest!  Regardless of your speed, the average 150 lb. woman can burn as much as 100 calories per mile!

  • Combined with a weight training program, running offers women weight bearing exercise for a strong skeletal structure.

  • Running reduces the incidence of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as depression.

About Our Program

  • We help you define your goals.

  • We analyze your personal fitness profile and current fitness level.

  • We offer customized training programs supervised by a certified running coach with over 10 years of experience coaching beginning runners at distances from 5K to Marathons.

  • Weekly workouts help monitor your progress and provide you with an opportunity to consult with your coach.

  • We conduct coach's clinics that will provide you with information on nutrition, stretching, injury prevention, workout apparel and shoes.

  • Beginning runners will have an opportunity to participate in their first 5K.  For more experienced runners,  we offer distances of your choice.
